History with FreeNAS is 2+ years using Gen6 HP servers, generic desktop gear and Gen7 AMD & Gen8 Intel Microservers so I am very familiar with the successes of using FreeNAS. H240 SAS HBA works initially but detected link transfer speeds detected as 135MB/s (dmesg) and also crashed the system (actual disk write speeds at hard-drive sas 600Mb/s, not 135Mb/s) LSI SAS2118i with P20 IT HBA working only with loader conf added: hw.pci.enable_msix=0 & hw.pci.enable_msi=1 (LSI driver on gen3 PCIe caused NMI event 6 hours after stress testing, additional loader conf restricts LSI driver to PCIe 2.2 interrupts standard from my reading) Server gear is GEN9, 16GB ECC REG, Xeon 6core v3 processor. Seems majority of *nix based distros have stopped using CISS and gone forward with the HPSA item. is there a HPSA firmware driver for FreeBSD/FREENAS ?Ģ can we blacklist CISS firmware driver from loading using loader conf?
